Checkerboard Slippers Pattern
The pattern is a multiple of 5 stitches done in the garter stitch. Use Number 3 or 4 needles and a single strand of poly in two colours
Cast on 55 or 60 st in one solid colour (This makes it easier to sew up) Knit 5 st of each color. 4 rows or 2 ridges form one completed block. Every four rows reverse the colour of the block to form the checkerboard design.
Make 11 blocks or knit garter stitch for 44 rows. 1st decrease row – k1, k2 together, k2. Repeat this across the row. Knit the next 3 rose as before without decreasing, to complete the block. 2nd decrease row – k1, k2 together, k1. Repeat across the row Knit the next 3 rows as before without decreasing, to complete the block.
Leaving a length of yarn, draw through the stitches and tighten up to form the toe. Sew up the front part way and up the back.
